Messed up sound in WinXP with SBLive! Value

At the end of many sounds ever since I installed XP there is a little static. I tried recording the sound output and the static did come up in playback, so it's not a hardware problem. You can listen to the sound here: http://www.geocities.com/maddoggbaa/Untitled001.wav (it's not always as bad as in this recording). Any ideas? I have tried the native XP drivers and the ones from creative.

In general my xp system lags when i play winamp or anything close to playing music .. skips and studders and everyting!

I haven't found anything that would fix it yet...drivers or settings...

good luck

I had the same problem when I first istallede WinXP and my drivers form the soundblaster cd, but for me it went away after I downloaded and updated the old drivers with SBliveXPdrvUpdate that I found on Creativelabs.com.
