Messed up my modem!

Have external US Robitics 33.6 Sportster fax modem. tried to download the flash 56k upgrade from an unoffical site. And guess what? it screwed the modem up. It won't respond anymore. Is there anything I can do to revive this thing. Can I get it back to 33.6 It was stupid to try cause my lines on work at 28.8 Live and learn....

You could take the modem back to where you bought it from, and get a new one... or you could call Tech support and see what happened, I had the same problem with a US Robotics modem when way back when and the upgrade didn't work so well for me either. Stick to the Legal stuff though, don't try to tweak it or anything yourself, you may void the warranty on it and then you'll end up paying for a modem all over again rather than just paying for an upgrade.
