Messed up my company-laptop!

Okay I was trying to transfer some files from my personal laptop to my company laptop today. To do this, I had to switch my work laptop to use "MSHOME" workgroup instead of logging onto a company domain as usual. This worked fine.

Problem is - I can't switch back to the domain now!!! When I try, it says "access denied"....what can I do?? I am administrator on this local laptop, but not on the company domain.

Call IT, sheepishly admit that you messed with the laptop's network settings in order to install unapproved software, and then ask them humbly to tell you how to fix it.

Since this is an Operating Systems topic, it's being moved from Windows/PC Software over to Operating Systems to help get the identities of the new sub-Forums tidied up.

You can attempt to system restore back to before you left the domain. If that doesnt work or you can't then you need to have a domain admin re-add you...

time to call IT and admit what you did.

In the future, you DON'T need to change domains/workgroups, use UNC paths
