Messages in Outlook

Where are the messages stored in Outlook? I am running Windows 2000 and they are not in the same place as 98 (win/application data/identities). Any help? Export doesn't work...

I'm sorry but I don't actually know where they are stored. This is the method I would use.

Create a Draft and then check in files and folders using search by Date. You should be able to pinpoint the file you're looking for.

Windows 2000 stores application data in folders by user name. Your Outlook file should be in C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

It is probably called either outlook.pst, mailbox.pst or *.pst depending on whether you may have changed the name or not.

Go into Outlook Express, click tools/options and select the maintenance tab. There is a button called store folder, click it, and that will tell you where Outlook stores your email. I have both the Win2k and Win98 versions of Outlook setup to look in the same directory/same drive - eg. c:\program files\email\, and then if you are in either win2k or win98 you will get the same email in your inbox.

Hope it helps.
