I was trying to set up a message board for a friend's website and (being lazy and not feeling like creating my own) I wanted to know if I could get a pre-made message board like this one that I could just modify.

Personally I like InvisionPowerBoard which you can see in action here. and it's free 🙂

I can install it for you in about 8 minutes if you'd like (assuming your web host uses a control panel like cPanel or DirectAdmin).
 
I'm still putting the server together....I think I'm going to use Apache...Do you think I should run it on WinXP or RedHat Linux?...Oh...I think I have Mandrake too...
 
Yes, the domain has already been purchased and right now he is using a company that does pre-fab websites...it's expensive and the site is pretty tacky about the only thing he controls is the text content....the layout, the pictures, the links....just about everything is controlled by the company...
