I have a question. I'm going to be offering Shell accounts but I would like to get a console based message board. I used to use one a while back I remember I typed in bboard to access it. Does anyone know where I can find this program or anything like it.

I know I may not seem to make sense, if I sound too confusing just let me know.

You got some guts man.

You may want to think about just using a mailing list. I couldnt find anything in the OpenBSD ports system, so check FreeBSD's ports, they may have something.

yeah,
My internet is gonna be costing me $150/month (colo) so I gotta make up for it somewhere. I found lots of web based ones but not any console ones

If you do a mailing list and only put the local users email accounts on there it shouldnt cost you a dime.

1) Either set up a small usenet server and create some private groups.. (would be my choice).

2) setup a simple web based one and use a text browser like w3m or links,

nah the software would be free internet is not

If they can only use their local email addresses (through mutt or pine or whatever) the emails would never touch the internet, thats why I mentioned it. Youve got more problems than this to worry about though if you are going to be selling shells 😛
