Mesh range advice, please?

Hi,

I want to replace some old Apple Time-Capsules in a friends place with an alternative MESH system.

Unfortunately, all the off-the-shelf offerings seem to only offer up to three access points with a coverage of around 5,000 square feet or so (circa 600sq yards/metres). The property has a footprint of around 32 x 30 yards/metres or just 900 sq yards/metres and therefore circa 8,000 sq feet.

If we purchased a three pack of Google or Linksys or TP-Link or whatever, can we then just continue extending with further nodes?

Sorry if it seems a dumb question but I've been unable to find out from the manufacturers' sites.

Thanks in advance, for any help and advice.

Unfortunately Mesh as explained to consumers suffers from the same Marketing Conundrums as Regular Consumers WIFI. I.e., it is more based of verbal Hyperbolic than real numerical based Tech. performance.

I would say that if One estimates that 3 Mesh nodes are needed to cover the environment make sure that whatever you buy is capable to work if needed with 5 nodes. By doing so One insures that the Area can be covered well if needed.

I would also suggest before buying a Mesh system to go to the site of the intended devices, download the pdf instructions, and make sure that One understands clearly what is needed and how to follow the configure/control instructions.

While mesh makes the live easier to IT people, at times it can be a challenge to regular Consumers.
