Just got around to building a new comp to replace my gaming comp (work comp is fairly new).

Here are the specs.

AMD 64 3200+ (to OC' to 2.5-2.6 Ghz)
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum MoBo
2x 512Mb Crucial Ballistix DDR3200
1x NEC 3200 DVD/CD Burner (silver)
1x ASUS 16x48 DVD/CD Rom (Silver)
Thermaltake Tsunami Dream Silver Case withOUT lame window :D (2nd one...I love these....if only they made a full server tower w/ removeable mobo tray :D )
1x Vantec EZ Swap HD kit
2x Seagate 200gig SATA Barracuda drives
1x Seagate 80gig SATA Barracuda (2 partitions: OS/ Games)
Soundblaster Audigy 4
Alpine Silver Floppy Drive
Microsoft Natural Multimedia Keyboard
Microsoft Optical Mouse
Ultra X-Connect 500watt PSU (awesome... if it had adjustable rails, would be my favorite PSU)
ATI Radeon 9600 from old machine (will replace once people aren't out of stock of all the good cards)

System I replaced:
AMD XP 1700+
1 gig SDRAM
ATI Radeon 9600
1 Plextor Plexwriter 12/4/32
1 Plextor UltraPlex CD Rom
1 Castlewood Orb SCSI Drive (backups)

Once you throw a 6800 GT in there you should be set for a while. Expect quite an overclock on the Winchester, as long as your board, cooler, and PSU are up to par.

If I were a gamer, I'd be envious.

Aye. My work comp also has the AMD 64 3200+ OC'd to 2.5 Ghz.

I will wait to upgrade the Vid Card till after the holidays as prices drop and people actually get some in stock.

frankierx: What card is this you're planning to get? I know many 6600GT AGPs are selling around $220 at the moment; after a little while they should be around $200.

I'm waiting until the x800's or 9800XT's get cheaper, or at least people have them in stock :p

The 9600 will be OK for now, but I will upgrade later as I see fit.

Probably meant S939 A64; I don't advise trying to jam a Barton into a board with a 939-pin socket.
