Merry Christmas or whatever

Merry Christmas!

Just got back from my parents' place. Got the main Christmas supper tomorrow at my sister's then also have a supper at my place. Always nice to spend time with family.

From my family to all of you and your families, a very merry Christmas!

A bit of a story. That snow baby and igloo set was the first Christmas decoration my mother bought in 1950. She was 20 years old.

The star on my tree is a Noma Monrovian Star my parents bought when they got married in 1957. It's foil over cardboard and folds flat for storage and held together with hopes and dreams at this point. Thankfully it spent most of it's life in SoCal where it never had a chance to mold. But it is showing signs of dry rot. 🙁

This year my mother would have been 96 and my father would have been 99 years old.

The older you get, the more precious memories become.

Merry Christmas everyone! Was nice yesterday to spend time with family and stuff myself with turkey, ribs, borracho beans, mashed potatoes, etc. I love turkey about the same as Ralphie's dad in Christmas Story. Today will be watching lots of NBA basketball (hopefully the Spurs pull off a third straight win over OKC) until my brother, his wife, and co come by in the evening so their gakidomo (e.g. kids) can come open some presents.

Yeah, Luckily I still have both my parents and we are staying at their place for Christmas and my sister and her family is visiting from Paris, so twelve people under same roof. 🙂
