Last week I decided to upgrade my laptop's primary 3G connection card. My old laptop has a PCMCIA slot, and the newer one has an Express slot. I found this device at Sprint, and was intrigued by the design.
It is a combination PCMCIA and Express card. The Express card nests in the larger PCMCIA carrier, but with a latch release on the bottom, it can slide out and standalone as an Express card.
Express is a bit faster than PCMCIA. Here is the device in a composite showing all modes.

It installed easily after the Sprint SmartView software, and I was up and running on the Internet in about 20 minutes. That included manual reading time.
