Merlin Bios for NF7-S Rev 2.0

And you are using which BIOS specifically? I've tried both tictac's and Merlin's latest BIOS files and none of them allow Windows to recognize my XP-M that way.

I have an Abit NF7-S R2
AMD AthlonXP-M 2500+

I havent flashed my BIOS in ages.

Im interested, where do I download or should I wait for the next minor tweak?

Im not so bothered about Windows being able to tell the difference between an AXP and AXP-M, Id rather my BIOS knew what it was so that it'd detect the right CPU speed if I ever clear my CMOS. 100x6 isnt fast.... take it from me.

My 2500+ (desktop) is running at 220x10 now (1.75v) without a hitch. Raw clock\bus speed is all I'm after as this is mainly a F@H machine, so I'm loving this BIOS.

Do i use ABIT's Flashing tool or is it a scary Floppy Disk Flash?

EDIT: Also for my XP-M.... I remember that when you flash, your cpu shouldnt be overclocked. Since XP-M's dont really have a default (unless 100x6 is what is classed as default) what do i use?

You can use their flash utility...I did...
Also, it resets your BIOS before it flashes it so it isn't overclocked...

Thanks for the swift reply. Doesnt seem to have improved my overclocking but then again I knew my RAM would hold me back. CH-5 chips, around 1 1/2 years old now.... maxes at around 210 stable.

Perhaps now I can squeeze 215 out of it. 220 died on me after around 5 minutes of gaming.

Heres hoping.

CH-5 is good stuff, what voltages are you using?

Ive tried everything from Default to 2.9V in the Bios. No luck pushing very stabily past 210 FSB.

This stuff is 2 x 512mbTwinMOS PC3200 with CH-5 chips. Bought in May 2003 if I remember correctly.

I've got 2 unmatched sticks of Corsair Value Select PC3200 that pass Memtest86 at 217MHz on my NF7-S R2. Timings = 3-3-3-11 and Vdimm = 2.7V at that FSB.

Felt stable at 210 FSB, 2.5-3-3-11 timings, Everest tells me the Vdimm is around 2.93V.

It passed a few hours gaming. Dont know about Memtest though.
