Merging RAR files?

I have two archives file.rar.aa and file.rar.ab, I was just wondering on how to merge or extract them as the continuous file I know they are.

Are these files linked together?

You usually just extract the first file and it follows through. Just make sure they are in the same directory.

Change the extension on the first file to .rar and the second one .r00

What you said works, but putting a .part#.rar at the end also works.

Example
NAME.part01.rar
NAME.part02.rar
NAME.part03.rar
etc.
