merge made no difference?

if i recall right, ATT and cingular merged recently. now i was hoping that now that they are a huge, the largest, cell phone provider in the US, you'd see some fantastic new features and phones, and plans- all at lower prices.

instead, i see nothing. both sites have not changed one bit, and all the services being offered are identical.

whats the deal?!

i would've thought that they would take advantage of the huge press surge and publicity from the merger to steal their customers.

at this point its a month later and people have literally forgotten all about it. i personally wanted to switch to verizon, didn't cause i was expecting something big from this merger, but may go back to verizon. i'm sure there are loads of other people out there like me.

esp. after verizon brought out their "in" plan, and practically everyone i know has VZ.

Was cingular service as horrible as ATT? If not it will be soon. Mergers always result in a shift to the least common denominator. You should know this by now.
