Merge GPT disks

Hi guys,

I have one WD 3,0TB HDD in windows i see them as 2 hdd (so 2 different disks) : one with 2,0TB anonther with 0,7TB.

With AOMEI Partition I could transform them in GPT from MBR.

But I still see them as "2" different disks!

Do you know how can i get them in only one ?

It is strange that AOMEI Partition is showing them as 2 different disks and thats why I cant for the moment merge them.

The disk wasn't GPT, so you can't merge partitions, it would go over the MBR limit.

Make sure your OS & BIOS have GPT support before you do this change.
Then, you should be able to merge those partitions just fine.

Hey there itsmegmi,

What is the drive's model? MBR has a limit of 2.2TB so you simply can't use more than that. You would need to reformat the drive as a GPT one if your hardware supports it, as Elixer explained. Have in mind that this formats the drive and wipes the data off of it so you should od a backup of the data that you don't want to lose. If this drive holds your OS you would need to reinstall the OS and all the applications and games with it.
Check if you have the remaining 0.7TB as unallocated space in Disk Management. Here's how to get there: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=XxnUvJ

Post back if you have other questions or if you are not sure if the drive works properly or not.
