Mercury danger in LCD's

WTF..

Is it true there is mercury in LCD's? Does that mean its dangerous to have a broken LCD in your room?

The main reason I ask is that I've had a broken LCD in my room for the last two or three years.

it's illegal to toss them. You are supposed to send them to a recycling center

I never had a broken LCD before... Last September was the first time I bought a LCD monitor. However, I would recycle if my LCD monitor breaks down.

Also, there are mercury in cell phones. FYI.

Did you even break the glass tube open? I would guess it's still contained, otherwise you probably breathed it all in 2-3 years ago 😛

Throwing most electronics away is not a good thing. Heavy metals like lead, cadmium, mercury, etc. sit in a landfill and leech out into the soil and eventually hit the water table, then we get to drink them, yay! :thumbsdown:
