Although the fly-by-wire controls on the inside look cool, I wonder how long it would take to get used to. I definately wouldn't feel comfortable driving one off the lot until I had some practice

Nope, I drove a 96 Impala SS for 10yrs and it was no where near the fuglyness of that thing.
