Wow.
The BEST car in the world!!!

I SO want that car.
A friend of mine has a CL600 and I drove it a little bit: THE BEST CAR IN THE WORLD!!!

We should conquer Germany, take all the people at Mercedes as prisoners, and put them in charge at GM!!! :D

They are already in charge of Chrysler.

I would get it, but I want a four door.

How in the HELL do they manage to not only cram a V12 in there (I know a 12 isn't anything new to the CL) but 2 turbos?

I rather have a REAL car ...

what the hell is this, a diesel??

Nope :)

Its a bi turbo V12 with extremely small turbos so no turbo lag and low spool time.
If the turbos were extremely small they wouldn't be able to provide 1.5 bar of boost to such a thirsty engine.

Engine bay looks pretty big... Maybe shallow-angle bank separation?

And a Benz is a REAL car compared to a 575 Maranello? Cmon man....

Yep. At least the CL, the SL, and the S-Class! They are just "Benz"!!! :D
Those are REAL cars.

Have you driven a Maranello? I would suggest doing it.
(Go to Germany and drive it on the Autobahn at 3 in the morning when you can really push it ....)
I have to admit I really like how it handles at HIGH SPEEDS but up to ~140 mph the benzes are about the same.
And they are way more comfortable and stylish.
They are just the finest of German engineering compared to a crappy italiano vehicle.

Maybe you should talk to some people that actually own some ferraris.
Most of the time: "It is not their favorite car anymore!!!"

Can you imagine the servicing costs? As well as how the car will function 10 years down the road? Yikes!

As for the Ferrari comment: from the various articles/journals I have read, it seems that they have HORRID reliability. As in people own it for one year and then sell it cause by that time warranty is over. They may be great driver's cars..but they don't drive for very long. However if you can afford the car, you can afford the costs to maintain it.

No Benz has the aggression of a Ferrari :) That's what makes it more of a car than an HEAVY, automatic speed demon. Go drive a Bently :p I'll take a car that's a little more involving and nimble :D

That's true. But we weren't discussing the driving aspects (or were we?). I thought the poster meant the reliability.

BUt yes the Ferrari is way more engaging to drive than the CL Benz. But then most owners of that CL owuld have a Ferrari as well.

Bastards!
