Men's room on the left or right - is there a standard?

In the spirit of another public restroom thread, I had a similar question.

Is there some sort of local, global, universal standard, for when you have a building and two restrooms, whether or not the door to the Mens or Ladies room is to the left or right?
The reason that I ask is, there was one time when I was in an unfamiliar arcade, and my head was kind of fuzzy, and I accidentally wandered into the wrong one. Thankfully, no-one was inside, and I don't think that anyone saw me, but I was personally rather embarrassed from the incident. It's only happened once, now I'm pretty careful, but in the future, is there any sort of rule-of-thumb here? I'm mentally running down the list of places that I regularly visit, and so far, this is what I've come up with:
local mall upstairs: Mens < > Ladies
local mall downstairs: Ladies < > Mens
local McD's: Mens < > Ladies
local Wendies: Ladies < > Mens
local Wal-Mart: Mens < > Ladies
local arcade: Mens < > Ladies

Hmm. I would have initially suggested that the Mens room is primarily on the right, but that appears not to be the case in my local informal survey, actually. I think I'm going to add a poll.
