Ok ive tried this before... twice.... to find out if it was like soldiers but forget it i just bit the bullet and bought it anyways.
Its a pretty good game! I was surprised because faces of war (men of wars predecessor) sucked. Men of war is a lot more like soldiers (first game in series) was in that its much less linear. Theres fun missions, especially the 3rd bonus mission, all tanks in this game are vulnerable but the king tiger... well commanded.. you get to dominate the map in that mission with it and go up against a few M26 pershings its good stuff. Theres a story tagged on to the campaign missions but i didnt follow it, the voice acting is bad but i have to say at least they tried to put accents on this time. They tried to make germans sound german russians sound russian which is more than they did for faces of war which had awful accents, soldiers accents were decent as far as i remember.
Theres a lot to this game, a lot of depth, theres many different ways to complete missions but it has to be said you wont fail at it if you dont know every little thing, i only use two of the buttons on the interface, the direct control one and the loot enemy soldier/tank/crate button. The rest is easy. Cover works in a similar way to company of heros, from a UI perspective anyways. You can fix enemy equipment and use it sometimes.
So if your looking for some WWII fun and were let down by the recent CoH expansion, lets face it tales of valor was a little thin and CoH isnt known for its single player campaigns, men of war might be what your looking for. Oh it runs well on an 8600m GT which was crap for its day and its day is past, so you dont need a supercomputer to run this.
