I hate looking around. This is when I consult other female friends, especially the ones who have too many handbags that they can fill a suitcase with just bags, and get a quick rundown of what's good for my girl.

As a female, I tend to agree. Get her to choose 5, then go back and buy one of them another day. There's still some surprise, and less headache for you. Or better yet, convince her to carry a wallet or have only one purse. I hate purses, I view them as a necessary evil. Good luck!

I've bought two things related to this. For one, I bought the matching LV wallet to her purse. That was easy because the design was already one that she had so I just had to pick between 2 or 3 wallets. The second bag I bought for her was her work bag from Coach. I found out from her roommate that she liked a certain design and bought it for her for Christmas one year. It doubles as a baby diaper bag (which she still gives me crap for) but she uses it as her daily work bag. I tend to stay away from it now because she has so many bags and a few favorites that she uses more than others, so any others I were to buy for her would go to waste.

Agreed. I've bought numerous purses for my wife...but ALWAYS Dooney & Burke All-Weather Leather. None of their printed canvas kiddie purses they seem to specialize in nowadays.

There have been a couple of times where she picked out a different purse and I just paid for it...then wrapped it as a gift. "SURPRISE!" :roll:
