Men: Do you prefer a shrew or pushover?

For those of you that currently have a girl (wife/girlfriend), would you consider her a strong woman? Very outgoing, doesn't take any of your crap, etc... usually a challenge to get, independent. AKA a shrew.

Or is your girlfriend/wife/whatever a pushover? Very timid/quiet... very dependent on you?

If you're single, which type of girl do you prefer?

My answer: My fiancee would be considered a shrew, and that's how I like 'em. She was hard-to-get and is very independent. I've dated girls in the past who were very passive and didn't have a strong will and I wasn't attracted to that at all. I'm sure some girls fall in the middle, such as my fiancee... she is strong yet still very loving.

Lol, you can have someone in the middle. I'm just curious about the mentality of most men. I think of my fiancee as an equal on all plains...decision making, etc. I think most guys will choose to have a timid/pushovery wife because they feel the need to wear the pants.

lol :p

Given the limited choices here, I'd have to say a bit of both. Most of the time my girlfriend is a very easy going, go-with-the-flow type of person, but not a complete pushover. If someone tries to get her to do something she really doesn't want to / doesn't like to, she'll tell them...and she won't do it.

Well, if there was a range from 0-10 ... 0 being a pushover and 10 being a girl who is a totally independent/strong/etc, she'd be an 8 or so.

Kalpana, if you are reading this look away:

Hmm mine is a mix of both I guess. She's strong with her opinion and career goals, very outgoing, but does take some of my crap :) and does seem to be very dependent on me emotionally.

I on the other hand am more independent, strong willed and willing to break barriers and take risks, my social skills are average, though they improve quite a bit after a jack and coke :D

I don't like it to be too easy to get the girl, it takes all the fun out of it. I mean I don't want some nutjob that I have to spend months before we go out, but I don't want to meet someone and have them already into a relationship with me.

My fiance is in the middle, leaning towards a shrew. Her mother is an active feminist, so I can see where she gets it from.

Exactly like my wife. When she goes with the flow, she is implicitly saying she wants to, because when she doesn't she won't.

There is no such thing as a push over female. Wait until you marry her.
