MemTest86 -What does all this stuff mean?

Anyone care to explain how this program works? I ran it until the test completion bar got to 100% I dont think I got any errors. Anyone care to explain to tell me how this program works?

It runs various tests and goes in loops. I believe there are 6 tests in a single loop. I usually like to run about 25 loops or run it overnight to determine memory stability.

if you just ran it until "test completion" reached 100% then you probably didnt let it run long enough... you need to let it run at least long enough for all the tests to have a chance to run once (thats 1 pass)

Yes, and running it multiple times (overnight, usually) like wixt0r mentioned is the best bet. Sometimes one run through all the tests won't reveal an issue. Just as a point of reference, when I was trying to diagnose a bad stick of memory a few days ago, I let memtest86 run overnight. It passed 11 times, failed 16 times.

Run memtest with CPU cache always on and all 11 test, 10 passes. (c-1-2-2-3-0) That will stress the memory. Peace.

Edit: BTW, shouldn't that sig be "I eat celerons for breakfast!"
