Memtest86 errors on PC3200 and not PC2100?

I only experience memtest errors with my PC3200 ram and not my PC2100 on DIMM1, what gives?

Stepping: 0
CPU is at stock speeds

Setup 1:
AMD64 2800+ (NewCastle)
ABIT KV8 Mobo
1024 (2x512) PC3200 Samsung Dual Chan (Tested individually on Dimm 1 with 100+ errors within first 15 mins) @ 2.5-3-3-8

Setup 2:
AMD64 2800+ (NewCastle)
ABIT KV8 Mobo
Crucial 512mb PC2100 @ 2.5-3-3-6

I was told it might be between the cpu memory controller and memory.

How are you testing a single PC3200 memory chip in dual channel mode?"

Only have (1) DIMM in the computer when running MemTest86. Regardless of whether your are testing the PC3200 or the PC2100 memory. You will find yoru bad memory module soon enough.

No need to change the timings either. If you truely want to determine that it is the dual channel setup, then first debunk that it is either of the chips when they are individually in the system.

You aren't running dual channel, as the A64 on Socket 754 is a single channel system. Doesn't matter that you're running 2 DIMMS, it's still single channel. If you're getting errors on one of your DIMMS while running it at it's rated speed and timings, return it.
