Memtest86 crashing at 233mhz FSB, bad memory?

I have OCZ 3700 EB memory. When I try to run my fsb at 233mhz to get 466mhz DDR, I experience some instability.

So I ran memtest86 from a floppy. If I run it at an fsb 200mhz it runs without crashing. But at an fsb of 233 it always crashes at 65%. Does this mean that my memory is bad, or could it be the motherboard?

Here is another strange thing I noticed: If I set my memclock to cpu ratio to 1:1 with an fsb of 233mhz, CPU-Z reports memory speeds of 116.5mhz, half of 233. But at 2:1 it reports 233mhz. What is the deal with that?

just replied to you in my thread in case you missed it

i think he meant use a 2:1 ratio. on my board at least 2:1 means the memory speed is twice the fsb... 200 fsb => ddr400 233fsb=>ddr466 i think other brand boards use 1:1 to mean 200fsb=>ddr400. as for the half speed i'm lost. tried it on mine and at a fsb=233 and 1:1 i got 233 try using a different prog like motherboard monitor to see if that was just cpuz

good luck, i'm going to send my kingston mem back now that my psu just died

ps what's the deal with pc3700 memory, we should start a support group

oh yeah, try memtesting each stickn individually. one of mine was yanked and the other worked fine at 466 mhz with auto latencies (3338 for this stuff) i couldn't get it to pass memtest at 470 mhz though even by upping the latencies a ton

ok i will try 1 stick at a time a bit later tonight.

But out of curiosity, can you send a screenshot of your CPU-Z memory tab running at 466mhz?

I just did another test of 200mhz FSB 1:1, and CPU-Z reports 100mhz memory. i have motherboard monitor but I can't find where to give me memory speed info.
