Memtest86 causing hardware failures?

LexCruiser

I ran Memtest last Friday for $h1ts and giggles and after the test, my machine wouldn't boot.
Click here for story. If you can help, that'd be great!

Has anyone run into problems w/ Memtest causing some sort of hardware component failure or after any stress test in general? How would Memtest affect the mobo anyway? =(
Could it be due to sub-par memory? (They were corsairs valueSelect modules.. thought they were good?)

Any help/advice/comments/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Did you follow the link spanky gave you?
Memtest won't ruin anything, if anything it's just freaky timing.

By the way, cross posting across forums is generally frowned upon, I'd avoid it if I were you, people can get a bit "touchy" about it.

Sorry again about the x-post. I saw the link that Spanky posted, I had already checked up on the AMI error codes the nite it happened, sorry I didn't mention that already in my original post. It just seems strange that the system was working perfectly until I ran Memtest. All components (mobo, vid card, RAM, CPU etc etc) are only 3 months old. Machine didn't boot immediately after exiting Memtest...
