well im trying to track down my system instability problem, so im running memtest 86 and so far in 20 mins it has 8 errors... this isnt normal is it? i have 2 sticks of 512 so im gonna stop it right here and test eat one individually for 2 mins each and see which gives me errors.... is this teh right thing to do?

yes, you should not have any errors in memtest86, try either adjusting ram settings or do check one by one. One by one saves you time to troubleshoot of course.

because if it does, it is definately a memory issue.
However, errors don't mean that the ram is bad, maybe it is not able to handle certain RAM timings, or undervoltage. Incompatibility.

if memtest86 fails, high chances that prime95 will fail too.

thnx for the help guys, im running the ram at the rated speed of 2-3-2-6. the first stick had 0 errors.. and teh second had 415. it was a dual kit so ill just get them replaced 🙂
