Memtest86 3.4

What's up with the latest version 3.4? I downloaded the ISO image and burned a bootable CD. It finds fatal errors within 20sec on my system everytime at the same place. Never had a problem before. Tried 3.3 and no problems. I run OCCT, prime95, and Orthos just fine.

So, I started searching 3.4 problems. Seems lots of folks are having the same errors in exactly the same place as I did...all within 20secs. Me thinks the latest 3.4 version has serious problems.

Anyone have the same problems?

Anyway to put memtest on a usb Flash drive and boot to it to do the test. And can you use a CD rw to put Memtest on it? I have never used Memtest before, So some tips on how to use it properly would be great. Thanx🙂

Yo go to the website I gave.
You download the iso file.
You burn it.
You put it in the drive and restart the computer.
You go into the bios by pressing delete.
You change the boot order so that it boots the CDROM before HDD (default is floppy, then HDD, then CD)
It will load it from the CDROM before windows even gets a chance to load and immediately start checking for errors. Let it run for at least one whole cycle (it could take many hours so start it overnight)

http://www.memtest86.com/download.html from a google of memtest86. Shows update as of 27 Dec 2008 (I think this was a typo). I don't think this was abandoned years ago...just another team working on it.

A google of just "memtest" shows your site.

Memtest86 3.3 version works perfectly on my system. As did 1.70. On both a CD and flashdrive.

I was just pointing out that Memtest86 3.4 is having some problems and other users should be aware of it.

Thats not the original team either. (or if they are they came back after several years of inactivity) So you can choose either one of those new iterations.

Are there any plans for a 64-bit version of Memtest, for checking 4GB+?

I ran memtest86+ (whichever ver is on Hirens Boot CD 9.3) w/ my 8GB of RAM. I'm sure it was checking all 8GB because of how long it took.

I disagree. Memtest86+ 1.65 doesn't even check all 4GB of my RAM, I don't think it was checking 8GB. Memory tests take a long time anyways.

That's impossible for a 32-bit application.
