I am running memtest on my new Super Talent DDR3 1600 that just came in today. I have to break up the testing into 2 x 1024 and one All unused RAM. Does that sound right? ...And, how much coverage should I test? I've seen it go past 100% and continue ...which sorta doesn't make sense but hey.

Yes, you can only run up to a certain amount per instance.

I run four instances to stress most of my 8 GB.

As for how long to run it, the longer, the better.

Just like how you can run one pass with Memtest86+, running many passes is best for really checking stability.

With HCI, obviously getting to 100% is nice, but getting alot farther is even better :)

^^ +on top of what n7 said

keep in mind that you might get errors with the HCI memtest in windows not due to bad ram. it might be due to a corrupted operating system from something else. (this doesn't only apply to HCI memtest, but to any other windows-based stability test)

Thanks

I ran all instances above 200% without errors, so i think i got it dialed in correctly - 7.7.7.21 @ 1T 1.9v

Thanks again :)

Cheers!
