memtest from usb key?

I see a downloadable USB key EXE on the memtest site. How do I make a USB key out of this so I can stick it in and boot off it (already setup the BIOS)? This is for testing a friend's PC.

Download - Pre-Compiled EXE file for USB Key (Pure DOS)
Download the file behind the link and unzip it on your desktop. Attach your USB key to your system, then execute the memtest86+-1.60.exe file. It should autmatically copy over the necessary files on its own.

I extracted the exe file in that zip to a directory. I ran it. It opens a command line for less than a second then closes. No files got copied. I think it's a pure DOS exe that needs to be run in DOS, somehow.

Edit: never mind. my friend got a blank cd-r to burn memtest to.
