No memtest errors. All new parts.

Did a mild overclock (2.4ghz to 2.6ghz and bumped up the 7800GT to 490/1.15) and now the system has gone to hell... random reboots, can't install fresh copy of Windows, etc.

Help!

dont overclok when installing windows, thats a nono. second, if youre using a sata hard drive and plugging it into the nvidia sata ports, make sure you use ports 3 and 4, as theyre the locked ones.

Could you please explain this or link to an explanation? This sounds interesting but I do not understand the reference. Thank you.

birdpup,

I did some research... it seems that many forums (including this one) talk about SATA ports 1 and 2 having problems dealing with overclocks because they can't handle high FSB. Ports 3 and 4 are locked (and stable) so if you only have 1 or 2 SATA drives, plug them into the 3/4 slots.

I had the CPU's FSB up to about 275 with my SATA drives plugged into 1/2 so I'm wondering if that damaged the drives?
