MemTest Failure

Hi everyone,

I have a ASUS Maximux VI Formula motherboard and G.Skill TridentX DDR3 2400 8gb memory. I have tried several times to use MemTest to test at 2400 MHz. The memory could complete the complete test at Pass 0 (first test). But it failed Test set #5 and #8 in later complete tests (Pass 1, Pass 2, and so on).

If I run the memory at 1600 MHz. Then it could complete every complete test. That means the memory ram circuitry has no defect right?

I suspect it is overheating problem. So I am getting memory fan and improvement the air thermal flow of my case with new powerful case fan.

Thanks.

The problem is not overheating but overclocking and false advertising by GSkill. That 2400 MHz memory should be rated only 1600 MHz or even only 1333 MHz, the same speed as its chips.
