Memtest failure.

Hi guys. I have these damn stability problems on my pc so i decided to start with a memtest.
I have 2 different brand dimm in double channel (512 mb dimm Twinmos and S3+ DDR 400mhz). Memtest in dual channel displayed 19 errors after 7 hours of testing. So i started with only one dimm on single channel and then the other one: test run 1,5 hr each and no errors. So i put the dimms together but in single channel mode: i got no errors after 8 hr of test. Can i be sure, having these results, that my MOBO does not support double channel for this 2 dimms or should i take some other test to be absolutly sure?
Is there a way to test all memory along with cpu using Prime95?

It's best to use matched pairs for dual channel(same brand, speed, and timings). If you are getting errors only in dual channel, my guess would be the 2 sticks just don't want to work together in dual channel. You could also try to loosen the timings some, just to see if you stop getting errors.

Hi stevty. Timings seems to be the same for both modules. Should i try to reduce the timings below both modules ability? They are both 2,5-3-3-8. Right now, with the modules in same channel prime95 has been running for 6 hr without error

which test are you using with prime95, prime95 isn't really the best program for testing memory, memtest is pretty much the best. I was suggesting lowering the timings just to see if it would stabalize in dual channel mode, even if both modules are rated for the same timings, just because they are different manufactures.

i think i'm having a similar problem as i have the same board as you do. on the everest my corsair pc 3200 scores as pc 2600??? i have 2 gigs of ram (value select). check out my thread i started to get help. my computer is only 7 days old. i am so frustrated, games like far cry keep constantly pausing for a second or two as if i was running the with only 256meg of ram or something.
