On a mates computer I have Memtest 3.2 bootable failing on:

Test 5 - 26659 Errors
Test 6 - 323 Errors
Test 7 - 492 Errors
Test 8 - 3501 Errors

The computer is generally locking up and restarting is the best way to put it

The system is a:

Core 2 Duo E6600
Gigabyte GA965PDS3 Motherboard
GeIL 2GB PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)

The ram voltage needed to be increased by default (Has to run at 1.9) otherwise the computer would restart but different restart problems occur now about a month since I sorted the 1st problem out

The Geil official voltage range for the GX22GB6400UDC is 1.8-2.3v.
Does the memory produce the errors at 1.9v?

I have read some articles talking about motherboard and cpu can cause memtest errors?

Wondering if a particular test could point to this

When buying memory, it's always best to check the specs directly from the manufacturers site. They post correct specs, while Newegg and the others may get it wrong.

I don't know if you've checked already, but makes sure that specific ram is guaranteed to work with that motherboard. Good ram can act bad for some reason or another with specific mbs. I called Crucial to make sure my ram would work before buying. A couple of years ago I got some ram from Bestbuy that gave tons of errors. I bought and returned 3 sticks before I gave up. I never checked for compatibility, but I'm guessing that was the problem. I wouldn't expect that there were 3 bad sticks, but I guess you never know.

Try different voltages, timings, one module at a time, and move to a different slot. If they still fail then I would RMA the memory.

This memory may also have issues on the DS3.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't load with my gigabyte 965-s3 motherboard. I increased voltage by .4 and it finally loaded but then crashed everytime I tried to install windows xp. Terrible ram, don't even bother with it.

Compatibility issues suck but they do happen. I just built a rig using a DG965RYCK mainboard + 1GB ASI Nspire module, and Memtest86+ would fail instantly no matter what settings I used in the bios. I proceeded to try another Nspire module and saw no change. I popped in a 1GB Wintec module and it worked like a champ.
