Memtest (cycle vs. loop)

Mattlock

Senior member
I am a Memtest newbie. I often hear people refer to "loops". Is that the same as "cycle' that shows up at the bottom of the little window.

How/where do can you "program" memtest?

thanks,

Mattlock

Actually it is refered to as a PASS...It should run through 11 test and takes about 29min for me (more so for ppl with larger then 512mb of ram)...when completed it starts over at test 1 and list Pass 1....meaning one completed pass....Let this run for 10passes then you should be pretty certain...

I have seen it error in pass 7...I have seen it do one error in pass 2 test 4 and then never error again out of the remaining....

What I did was use the memtest iso from the AT FAQ section and when it boots form the cd-rom it starts running and then I type....(as per Thugsrook)....C - 2 - 3 -1 - 2 - 0 - spacebar...this sets up to test all memory, do all the test, turn on cache, have it turned on always, etc....
