Memtest-86 Question

In my continuing quest to determine why my new computer is randomly rebooting every few mins, I've run Memtest86 v3.2 on it several times now. Two complete passes on all tests with no errors reported.

Can I be reasonably certain that my RAM is fine and that the problem is coming from someplace else now?

And on a related note ... how come my PC3200 DDR400 RAM shows up as being set to 200Mhz everywhere?
Shouldn't it be set to 400Mhz ... or am I confused about RAM settings?

Hi. In answer to your first question, Aldraxis, the random reboots could be PSU, memory, flaky mobo, drivers, etc... you may want to try uninstalling all add-on cards besides the video card and seeing if it will be stable... It's a process of elimination. The memtest86 test should be run several times just to make sure... leave it running overnight or something. If it passes mem is AOK.

In answer to the second question, DDR is basically double the clock rate, so 200MHz is really an effective 400MHz, so the RAM speed is correct.

You're confused. DDR ram @ 200MHz is effectively 400MHz, which is correct.
