Memtest 86 1.70+ crashing and rebooting

Memtest 86 1.70+ crashing and rebooting

I have the setup in my sig.....prior this it was in my P180- using a storm rev2 and a PA160
My ram and cpu were 12 hr Prime95 blend test stable when stopped, 50 passes on test 5 and ran test 8 but cant recall number of passes


Badaxe 2 rev 505...mch 1.575, vfsb 1.3v..@400 fsb
e6600@3600 1.4v
Crucial 10th anniv @DDR800 2.0v..RAM is in the blue slots(1 & 3)
Corsair 620W PSU

so I moved to a TJ07..same parts except I got a PA120.3 rad and Fuzion block...same mobo, ram, cpu

I am getting bad dvdrw burns they skip alot...so checked sata ports..one was ?? bad..so I moved everything to anotherr set of SATA ports......still skipping....so

I re-ran memtest86 1.70...test 5....it locked up, rebooted after 1-2 passes at my 400fsb wth e6600@3600 L629F221@1.4v, 10th anniv DDR800@4-4-4-12 with 2.0v

I ran this with same ram and vdimm for 50 passes with no errors prior to my TJ07 build)as stated Prime 95 blend was 12 hrs stable..I have screenshots but is meaningless now)


Ok..I did some testing ...I took out my 10th anniv and put in brand new never used Crucial Ballistix DDR1000 5-5-5(with orange heatspreaders)

I have now tried DDR1000@800 with 4-4-4-12 @2v, 2.04, 2.08,2.16v...locks up
so I went to 2.16v @DDR800 5-5-5-15( 25passes) and 5-5-5-18 (37 passes before lockup)


I am at a loss to what the hell is going on.....

First i would check if Vdimm is stable.... if it is..... then i would believe that your MOBO is Borked....

not sure what you mean by checking vdimm...ie use a DMM...if so good idea

my Badaxe2 is generally right in the past was providing what I set in the bios...some Badaxe2 were known to overvolt but to be safe..I even set mine at 2.16v since the Crucial chips are known to be voltage sensitive..too much and the D9 chips die
