A friend of mine purchased some Corsair PC-4000 from someone else online. In CPU-z the memory shows as PC-3700. The heatspreader shows PC-4000 but I know it is pretty easy to change heatspreaders. Is there any way to verify that what this memory actually is or any other programs that can help? My only guess is actually removing the spreader and reading whatever is on the actually memory chips. I have heard of CPU-z misreading memory, but I have only had that problem with off name brands.
