I'm about to build my first system and am still learning alot. I have a quetion about the best memory to use on this setup. I'm not a heavy-duty gamer or OCer but may get into this later. Can someone tell me specifically what the most appropriate settings are for the memory. Thanks!! TimF

MB: Gigabyte 8KNXP
CPU: P4C
Memory: Corsair PC3200:confused:

Assuming that that is Corsair XMS and not Value RAM, the correct (best) settings are determined by the RAM and the FSB of your particular processor. If it runs on a 133MHz actual, 533MHz effective FSB, then run the memory at 133MHz (266MHz DDR) at more aggressive timings, such as 2-2-2-5. If you ever get a processor that runs on the 200MHz actual, 800MHz effective FSB, then run the memory at 200MHz (400MHz DDR) at whatever timings are suggested by Corsair.

Their list of sticks is here, just find your stick and follow the timings.

Hmmmm....

Next time I'll try to read things more fully. 2.4 C, eh? Well then, just go to Corsair's site (link above) and check out your particular stick of RAM and see what timings it recommends. Obviously you will want to run the RAM at 200MHz (400 DDR) synchronously with the FSB. The timings on Corsair's site will be recommended timings for 200MHz operation. Make sure to check that they don't recommend more voltage for their RAM to operate at those levels.
