Have an EPOX Nforce 4 Ultra Mobo.

I currently have 2 sticks of 512.
Thinking of upgrading to 2 gigs.

Should I get anohter 2 sticks of 512 or get 2 sticks of 1gb?

Would it make any difference performance wise?

Thanks

yeah I've been salivating for that one...so you think it is a better choice to go for two sticks than 4?

Well you do know the performence hit you get if you go from 1T to 2T? Right?

Well is that when you use all of your memory dimms on your motherboard, the command rate will be set at 2T. 2T will have a impact on the performance of your machine, that's way it's better to use 2 dimms in a duel channel setup at command rate 1T.

Also if you have an older, pre revision D cpu, you will down clock to DDR333.

Wow, wayliff, we are in the same boat. Check out this thread I started at FiringSquad about this very issue. I couldn't get a link to work so go to FiringSquad.com, go to the hardware forum, and scroll down until you come to the subject:

4x512 Modules or 2x1 Modules

Hope it helps.
