hi

I'm trying to upgrade my Fujitsu C6611 notebook which seems to play possum on me. I've isntalled it according to the manual (broke one of the support pegs in the process) but it won't give me feedback. The manual vaguely explains that any PC100 Sodimm type ram would do "but for 100% guarantee you should purchase from fujitsu".. i threw caution to the wind and purchased a stick fo 128MB of pc100 which are AzenRAM and slapped it in, but my bios will not detect the new ram. The original ram is onboard so I cannot test it without it.. either way, my notebook boots up detecting the onboard but completely ignores my new ram. I've even went to great legnths to make sure the module is seated properly but still no feedback whatso ever !

any suggestions?

haha you didn't buy original ram LOL that was stooopid!!!!

na just kidding... unless fujitsu has some sort of verifier any sodimm should work prefectly fine.

I have upgraded the memory on many brand laptops (compaq ibm etc) and it have always worked great with other memmory than original.

...why don't you call fujitsu and pretend like you have bought original fujitsu memory and they'll probably help you :)

Yeah, I caved and decided to call tech support :groan: I know they have a file on me already.. since i bought it last month I've had to use them 3 times for various issues... anyhoot, I was told it could be bad ram (my first suspicion) and possibly that the slot itself could be defective. I'll have to visit a tech shop of theirs on Monday.. just very fustrating is all.

I'll have the clips on it replaced too.. this is just generally a bad day for me.. ending up costing more than I bargained for.

fack!

hehe
