I have an Athlon 1.2g A7V Asus computer.
I have been running with 2x 64mb Apacer Pc-100 ram sticks since I brought
the machine.
After buying Links 2003 it was obvious that I needed more ram so I went out
today and brought 2x Pc-133 256mb ram sticks
I whacked them in and when I fired the pc up all I got was a continuous
beeping noise and that was it.
Then I thought, Id put them in one at a time. Well I put one stick in, fired
up the PC and was not getting a screen but smelt like I was getting a
wonderful burning noise. I wasnt sure if I was imagining it or not so I
erred on the side of caution and turned the pc off.
I have put the 2x 64mb sticks back in to get back online.
Are there any memory experts out there that can help ???
