Hi. I have just built my new Sempron 2800+ system with Asrock K8-Upgrade 760GX motherboard. It's a nice fast system (the onboard graphics are pretty crappy, I tried one game and I got bad artifacts using hardware acceleration, but it's fine for what I use it for (2D stuff in Windows - web browsing, code edting)), but the only thing I'm wondering about is what to set my RAM timings to. The motherboard automatically set my PC3200 RAM to 333MHz, so it was a no-brainer to change that to 400MHz. Also my RAM is CL2.5 so I set it to that as well, but I think it's still running suboptimally on other areas, so I want to set all the values to optimal (that is what they are rated for, not overclocked - I just want a nice stable system).....
Is there any program that will tell me what my memory can actually do, so I can then use that in order to set the right values in my BIOS.
Just for reference, here's my memory (one chip, in DDR slot 2 due to misleading labelling on motherboard (but I guess it's not worth moving it))
TWINMOS 512MB PC3200 DDR400 CL2.5 16 Chip (M.TEC) Double Sided
I can set: Burst Length to 8 or 4 beats. According to manual: 64 Bit Dq must use the 4 beats.
Here are my other options:
TRCD
Configuration options: [Auto], [2CLK], [3CLK], [4CLK], [5CLK], and [6CLK]. (Set to Auto)
TRAS
Configuration options: [Auto], [5CLK], [6CLK], [7CLK], [8CLK], [9CLK], [10CLK], [11CLK], and [12CLK]. (Set to Auto)
TRP
Configuration options: [Auto], [2CLK], [3CLK], [4CLK], [5CLK], and [6CLK]. (Set to Auto)
