Memory Timings??

Hey,
I have an Abit BH7 with a 2.4b running at 3.0 ghz (167 fbs) and want to try fiddling with my ram settings a bit.. I'm a total newbie when it comes to ram timings but I did try 2-2-2-5 (ok, I'm new so I'm probably missing something.. In other words, all 2's except one 5)..That did not work totally.. It oddly feels SLOWER.. It's not stable.. what should I try next? thanks!
p.s. my ram is pc3500 ram (cas 2) purchased from hardcorecooling.com

Thanks!

Is the ram rated to run at 2-2-2-5? If it's not, that would cause instability. What frequency is the ram actually running at? Your memory divider could be causing your ram to run at a speed beyond what it can handle. However, with pc3500, there is a longer way to push it. Running it at 2-2-2-5 when it is not rated for that speed would probably cause instability at 433 mhz, but lowering the frequency to 400 or 333 would probably clear up the instability at the expense of speed and bandwidth.
