For a C2D system, I was looking at Mushkin which is rated 4-5-4-11 while other brands are rated 4-4-4-12. Which timing configuration would actually be faster or is there really no difference?

I haven't benched to compare, but from what I've been reading it doesn't make that big of a difference in the C2D systems. If you aren't pushing the ram to it's max speed you may also be able to tighten your timings up a bit. I lowered all of mine by at least 1.

Where'd you get your Ballistix DDR2 800 modules at? I didn't see any at newegg.

Yea, I noticed that too. I think I got them from ZZF back in October. I believe they were $119 after rebate.

I also think I may have been wrong about my timings being lower than spd. I checked on Crucial's site, and they list the timings I'm using as being standard. I think I got confused when I turned off set timings by spd in bios and Asus defaulted to looser timings than stock.
