memory Time

Ok i finally have my system running stable @ 280FSB on winchester 3000+ 2.52GHz
But i have my memory @ 3-7-15-6
What would be a safe setting and stable its currently @ 200FSB in bios, memory is Crucial Ballistix 4000..
Many thanks for any help, supprised i got this far on air :eek: lol and without blowing the whole thing up too, infact im gonna increase my FSB to 290 if possible? and what memery setting should i be looking @ ? cheers guys!

Ok im now running 283fsb 9x multi and ram @231MHz cl3-5-5-11 if that makes any sence?
Will try and low some of the settings.. whats the T1 in my bios mean should i be running T2 and is T2 faster ?

sounds like you've got a pretty sweet setup.. and are most definitley getting your money's worth!

your currently running your memory at a ratio of CPU:11, so even though your processor is running with a FSB of 280MHz, your memory is only running at 229MHz

the best case senario is to have your memory running at the same FSB as your processor
In most other systems that would mean 1:1, but since the A64's memory controller runs at core speed (2520MHz), the best you can do is CPU:9
That is the lowest ratio possible with memory speeds being limited to a maximum of DDR550
