Memory tet program

I have not tried this program but... www.SimmTester.com has a program called DocMemory Diagnostic that will test memory.

--- EDIT ---

NEVER MIND!!! This software does not work on WinMe, WinNT 4 and 5!!

But, others might find it usefull 🙂

If you use SISOFT Sandra, it will test memory under DOS. Even if you test memory under Windows NT/2000/9x, you will still get worse results than if you stress test it under DOS. With DOS, you do not have a lot of TSR's or services that are running on the GUI based OS's.

nippyjun... I thought I made that clear (reason for edit).

Anyway, the reason it does not work with those O/S is because it needs "true-DOS" for it to function. The file creates a "self running boot disk," the test runs from the floppy and is mostly for testing if the memory is good or bad. Not what the original poster was looking for 🙁

That program from simmtester.com will run in a loop until you stop it or it can be run only once if you want.

It will work on any computer regardless of OS. You just need a win95 or 98 box to create the disk in the first place. After that you can use the disk on any computer you want.

The looping test, or "burn in" feature might not be what you are looking for, but it will stress test your memory.

When someone wants to "stress test" memory, The first thing that pops into my mind is to find out if the memory is good or bad. The best way is to find a program that runs under DOS off of a floppy disk. Sandra runs under Windows. If you look for AMIDIAG, this program runs off of a floppy disk and runs under Caladra DOS, or was it IBM DOS, I forget. But you get the point.
