Memory test software?

I'm just wondering what software is available or recommended for testing system memory. I recently installed a 256 MB DIMM (upgraded from 128) and I put the it in the first slot. I also upgraded to XP at the same time... Lately my system has been rebooting spontaneously when simply playing an mp3 or a playing a game; it just up and reboots all of a sudden. I am not sure if this is due to XP or to the RAM upgrade so I want to do a test to see if the RAM is generating erros. What (free 🙂 software can do this?

I'm not sure what I would rather find out: that the RAM is causing the instability or that XP is causing it.
