im gona be buying a new camera soon and was trying to figure out if i should buy the more expensive pro version?

is there a real big difference? lmk what your opinions are!

Pro is supposed to be faster and supports higher capacity. But before you buy Pro, make sure your device accepts it. Older models of Sony products don't.

Original: maximum capacity of 128MB.
PRO: higher pin-count (i.e. not physically compatible with older devices), max capactity (currently) 1GB,faster, too

Also, be careful: some newer Sony cams accept only MS Duo, which is a small-form-factor kind of MS. Anyway, I think the MS website would be very helpful to you.

u sure ?

i got a great deal with a 256mb sandisk for $55 + $5 rebate

so your telling me i shouldnt order that then ?

can u give me soem more info on it ?
like how many pics does a 128mb stick hold on average? or 256 for that matter?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. You can use 256mb memory stick as long as it's the kind that has 128mb on one side and 128 on the other.

With 128mb stick I think it's around 96 pictures or so at 3.2. It's a good camera as long as you don't mind the memory stick and the long shutter lag.

what do u mean by shutter lag? details. and by the 256 stick i meant the mem stick pro. u positive it doesnt use it ?

i want to make sure im buying a good camera.

what would u recommend for a good 3.2 meg camera in the same price range?

Memory Stick Pro definitely feels faster than regular memory stick. The delay time between shots feels reduced. It could be my imagination but camera feels faster.

I like the camera. I had the P72 for about a year and it has taken some beautiful pics of my baby girl. I know many here dislike memory stick format and prefer Canon cameras but I think Sony P72 is good small point and shoot camera. There is lag between shots but almost all digital cameras have that.

thx a lot.
i can get the camera for $220 new. so is it worth it ?
or do you think i can get soemthing better for the price ?

I think it's great camera for $220. I paid $260 something a year ago through Dell Hot Deals when it was selling for $330+. You can check out the review at Steve's DigiCams. link

thx for the help, il ltake a look at the link in a bit.

i want to make sure i buy a descent cam because im going to be in greece for almost 2 weeks :and want some good quality pics 😀

you CAN use memory stick pro with the Sony DSC-P72. the older model which was the P71 is the one you could not use memory stick pro with. i'm 100% confident.
