Memory speeds?

If I get a very fast (ocz titanium) 2GB (2x1GB) Dual channel memory stick to OC, it would be good, but if i'll be running vista and suse at the same time, i'll need more memory. If I get the slowest $40/GB memory, will it make my OC bad?
