Memory speed issues with Core i7 920?

Was reading some reviews of RAM over at Newegg while trying to decide what to get for my new build. I'm planning to run 12GB on an Asus P6T Deluxe v2 board. I read that it probably won't work to try to run it at 1333 with 12GB. Or so said Corsair support apparently. So, I'm wondering if that's truly the case or not? Does it even make sense to buy PC3 10666 RAM, or should i just go with PC3 8500? Would I need to OC my processor to run at 1333? Can anyone point me to a source that would explain all this?

Thanks!

Nevermind. Got my issue of Maximum PC today and it had pretty much all the info I needed. Apparently the 920s aren't locked like I had heard, and you can set your RAM to whatever speed you want without having to adjust the bclock. They did run into some problems running 12GB in some boards, so all they can really recommend is to go by the QVL for the board to determine what to buy.

Looks like the sweet spot for me, since I'll definitely want the full 12GB to run multiple VMs, will be 2 sets of Corsair XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666). According to the QVL for the Asus P6T Deluxe v2, I should be able to run both sets fine.
